Jim & others.....question about a Nitrous Expess kit

Has anyone here had any experience with the Nitrous Express NXL setup? I know Jim here does not like the NOS Nozzle setup...bad injector placement. Any info would be great!

The NXL kit suffers from the same issues as the NOS system does... you MUST use a STOCK sized/spray patterned injector for it to work properly. This means that you CANNOT run the NXL system with a Hondata and big injectors... which in my opinion makes the NXL (just like the NOS system) system flawed... and ultimately, useless with a well tuned FI application.

So Jim I am looking to run a Nitrous shot from 50hp to possible 75hp. Since you dont like the NXL setup would you just do a single fogger wet shot from NX. I would do a direct port, but that is alot of plumbing just for a 50hp shot. What would you do?

My suggestion would be a simple DRY system without any electronic gizmos. The ZEX systems utilize electronic sensors to control the nitrous delivery... which would interfere with the proper operation of your JRSC kit. Something like the NOS Import kit #5122 or #5123 would be fine... coupled with the Hondata system and a larger-than-necessary set of injectors. If one wanted to use a direct port system, then I would suggest using four nozzles (one in each intake runner) and use ONLY the dry side of the system... let the injector do the fuel delivery part.

Jim...I meant what is you favorite nitrous setup for a B16A that does not have a JRSC and is just NA? I have seen allot of people recomend NX since the solenoids are supposed to be top quality. Right now I am got my eyes on a single fogger wet kit from NX. I am planning to do a 50 to 75hp shot.

For a stock B16A with stock injectors and a stock ECU... the NXL kit or the NOSsle system would be excellent choices... except that they are quite powerful and the risk of engine damage with either kit at higher HP levels is inevitable. If you fortified the bottom end with sleeves and quality rods and pistons, the motor would be formidable... and quite powerful... and the chances for long-term survival are very good.

Once you change your engine management, increase injector size, add boost, or raise fuel pressures, the kits mentioned above are no longer good choices... in fact, they are BAD choices. Then it is necessary to choose a kit that caters to your powerplants design.
